Help preserve a legacy for the Wychwoods

The Wild Garden is a beautiful woodland and garden, close to the centre of Shipton under Wychwood in Oxfordshire. Its network of paths through 12 acres of woods and around ponds is the home to wild life and many breeds of ducks and birds. The residents of the Wychwoods have the opportunity to purchase the Wild Garden for enjoyment and leisure for themselves and for visitors. To preserve and to have access to this wonderful environment we need to raise an initial amount of £70,000 and an annual sum of £5,000 to £7,000.

We need to raise an initial sum of £70,000 to acquire the Wild Garden and carry out essential work to allow for full public access.

This is made up of:
£50,000 purchase price
£2,000 to cover legal costs and surveys, including a full tree survey
£10,00 for essential repair and safety works
£5,000 for essential tree works
£3,000 for new access at Dog Kennel Lane

After we have purchased the Wild Garden, we will be looking for annual subscriptions. We anticipate annual running costs of between £5,000 and £7,000. If you pledge more than £20 a year you may request to become a Member of the Company.

Shipton-under-Wychwood Wild Garden and Woods is a company limited by guarantee, set up in September 2009 with the active support and close cooperation of the Shipton Parish Council, in order to acquire and manage the Wild Garden. The key aims of the company are to achieve public access to the Wild Garden, maintain and conserve its environment and to provide valuable educational resources. The company is a charity, Registration Number 1133334.
