Diggers Wood is located about 200 metres further down Dog Kennel Lane from the Wild Garden rear entrance. It was acquired in 1999 and planted by the Woodland Trust in 2000 with considerable financial and physical support from the local community. The wood which is about 6¼ acres, was part of the Woodland Trust’s “Woods on your Doorstep” scheme for the Millennium.
Diggers Wood makes an attractive extension to a walk around the Wild Garden and if you have a dog, it can roam freely in this area without getting into too much trouble!
